This cult favourite has gone for an upgrade in appearance and ingredients and I am using the new version which I purchased in Seoul. Mineral Oil has now been replaced with natural Ester Oil, Butylated Hydroxytoluene is gone and skin-friendly Vitamin E acetate is in its place ( allowing this cleanser to be used on all skin types ) and Butyl Parahydroxybenzoate has been replaced with Phenoxyethanol.
Because of how popular Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm is, it seems that there may be fakes from China, because from the packaging, the company seemed to be making a stance on how you can check if your product is genuine.
Online Check : Scan the QR code on the box to verify the authentication and so I did and the above picture is what I get. I am using an authentic product. Cool!
I am so very impressed with the effectiveness of this balm, with or without double cleanse. If I have sunscreen and make-up on face, I will do a double cleanse, with a cleanser used after the balm. If I am using just sunscreen alone, I will just use the balm, and my skin still stay clean and clear.
I can even use it to remove eyeshadow and eyeliner on my eyelids without much irritation but it may hurt slightly ( read : not sting ) if it gets into your eyes which is understandable. I even use a cotton bud to check if there were any eye makeup remnants and there were none! Note that I did not have a chance to test it out on mascara so I cannot attest to the effectiveness on that.
The Banila Co Zero Balance Technology is said to deep cleanse and mildly exfoliates without stripping the skin and leaves the skin hydrated and fresh which is true to some extent as I do not feel any drying after-feel after each cleansing session.
You can use the spatula provided to scoop an appropriate amount ( I tend to use a 20 cent coin for my whole face, if its not enough, just scoop again ).
I love love love Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm ( Original ) and won’t be able to stop gushing about it. I save so many cotton pads too!
